The ACCUPLACER:  The College Board describes the ACCUPLACER as the "most powerful tool available to help colleges assess student readiness for introductory credit-bearing courses and make reliable placement decisions".

DRAGONS:  For most students, the Accuplacer is required for entry into Dual Enrollment Programs OR for admission as a graduated high school student (Post Secondary Admissions) into a Technical College.

For Dual Enrollment purposes, students should contact the Technical College in which they plan to apply and schedule a date/time to report to the campus for the exam.  You MUST prepare for this test in order to receive your best possible outcome. If your scores do not meet minimum requirements, a re-test is required. Most Technical Colleges requires 30 days between test administrations, which could impact your application deadlines. Many programs waive the test fee for Dual Enrollment admissions.

For Post Secondary admissions, the Accuplacer results will determine what classes you are eligible to take. There are different minimum scores for Associate Degree programs and core coursework than the Certificate or Diploma programs in most cases. Check with the admissions office at the Technical School to see the requirements for the program you are interested in enrolling.
